Dypsis lutescens (Areca Palm, butterfly palm) 20 Seeds
Nice arching fronds, green trunks to light grey in older trunks. Crownshaft and petioles often have yellowish tint. This palm has not been in the genus Areca in decades but is still widely sold as Areca palm. Full sun to medium shade. Some drought tolerance once established in the landscape. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in a well drained commercial potting mix. Keep seeds warm; temperatures above 80 F speed germination. Shoots should appear in 2 to 3 months depending on the temperature.
