Treculia africana- African Breadnut 4x4x10 inch pot
Common Name: African Breadnut. Family: Moraceae. Large fruits are loaded with small seeds which are ground into flour. Can be used to make a nut milk (reported to be similar to almond milk). Also, can be roasted and used as a coffee substitute. Medium to large tree native to tropical regions of Africa. Prefers well drained soils. Seems to grow easily in Hawaii. I expect this species to have little tolerance to cold. Use a balanced fertilizer several times per year to speed growth.
