Theobroma bicolor, 5x5x12 inch tree pot
Common Names: Mocambo, white chocolate. This rare relative of cacao is native to Central America. Large pods are filled with sweet pulp. Seeds are edible roasted and have a good flavor (hints of peanut and chocolate combined). Also, can be finely ground to make a chocolate substitute. Juvenile leaves can reach nearly 2 ft. across; plants put out juvenile leaves for 4 to 6 years. Intricately patterned pods dry well and can be used for arts/crafts. Young plants are best with some shade and should be placed in a location protected from wind. A general purpose fertilizer with micronutrients can be used. Well drained potting soil. Keep plants moist but do Not leave them in standing water. Outdoors in Zones 11 & 12.
Shipping weight 8 pounds. Trees are 28 to 40 inches tall when shipped. We will start shipping in June/July, 2017.
