Salacca zalacca (salak palm) 5.5 Inch Square Pot
Common Name: Salak palm. Balinese strain grown primarily for its fruit. Thin brownish scaly skin is easily removed. Crisp sweet white flesh with a delicious and unique flavor. Large pinnate dark green leaves are held erect. This clumping palm has large spines and should be planted in a moist area with afternoon shade. Plants will tolerate full sun but may suffer during dry windy periods. Tropical frost free conditions are required. Thinning the clump to 5 or 6 stems is recommended for optimum fruit production and easier harvest.
