Psidium angulatum 4x4x10 inch tree pot

Common Name: Guayaba agria. Fragrant fruits are used for juice, jam, and jelly.  Very nice flavor but somewhat tart; may need to be sweetened or mixed with sweeter fruit.  Fruits are approximately 3 inches in diameter and ripen to yellow. Seeds are few but larger than many other Psidium species.  Full sun to light shade. In areas with low humidity some shade may be required on hot days. Leaves are deep green, lanceolate and thinner more attractive than many guavas.  Acidic soil with good drainage. Keep moist.  Plants begin to fruit at 4 to 5 years old.  Outdoors in frost free areas of Zones 10B to 12.
