Picralima nitida (Akuamma) 4x4x10 inch pot
Common Name: Akuamma. Family: Apocynaceae. Small tree native to tropical regions of West Africa. Glossy deep green leaves 5 to 6 inches long. White flowers are followed by large fruit that ripen to yellow. Seeds are used in traditional medicine to relieve pain and as an anti-inflammatory. However, they should be used with the supervision of a physician or someone with extensive knowledge of herbal medicine. We are not responsible for the use of the plant or plant products. Plants grow well in Hawaii. Prefers a slightly acidic soil. Full sun to light shade. Keep moist but do not leave in standing water. Use a complete fertilizer with micronutrients.
