Michelia champaca (2.5X10inch tree tube)
Large tree with 3 to 3.5 inch fragrant gold flowers. Blooms in the spring or summer but a few flowers may be present in the fall. Fast growing. Slightly acidic soil that is high in organic matter is best. Fertilizing with K-Mag (potassium magnesium) will encourage blooming. Fertilize several times per year for quickest growth. Applications of chelated iron may be necessary on alkaline soils. Outdoor in USDA Zones 9 to 11.
