Dendrocalamus peculiaris (#2 nursery pot)

Report to reach 45 to 60 ft. tall with culms 4 to 6 inches in diameter. Large leaves about 12 to 16 inches long and 3 to 4 inches wide. Lower culms are smooth. Culm sheaths have very fine soft felt like hair on the young plants. Lower part of the sheath has stiff brown hairs.  Leaf upper surface is generally smooth with a few hairs.  But the lower surface has a felt like feel. Cultivated in southern China. Mid-elevations so it has some cool or cold tolerance    Zones 9b to 11. May require protection in Zone 9B during some harsh winters when temperatures drop below 26F or 27 F.  Used for construction, furniture and weaving. Fast growing. New generation. It may take several years to get a 100% correct identification. Plants appear similar to D. dianxiensis when young. We will have to trim the culms back to fit in the box to ship. #2 nursery pots are 10 inches in diameter. Be ready to move into a 14 inch pot or plant in the ground. Shipping weight is 8 pounds.
