Dendrocalamus dianxiensis(#2 nursery pot)
This may be D. jianshuiensis. Report to reach 60 to 75 ft. tall with culms 5 to 7 inches in diameter. Large leaves about 12 to 15 inches long and 4 inches wide. Lower culms are smooth. New shoots have very fine soft felt like hair on the young plants. Leaf sheath very covered with light tan short hairs. Leaf upper surface has some stiff hairs but the lower surface has a felt like feel. Native to Yunnan province in China. Mid-elevations so it has some cool or cold tolerance Zones 9b to 11. May require protection in Zone 9B during some harsh winters when temperatures drop below 26F. Edible shoots. Culms used for construction. Fast growing. New generation. It may take several years to get a 100% correct identification.We will have to trim the culms back to fit in the box to ship. #2 nursery pots are 10 inches in diameter.
