This may be D. jianshuiensis. Report to reach 60 to 75 ft. tall with culms 5 to 7 inches in diameter. Large leaves about 12 to 15 inches long and 4 inches wide. Lower culms are smooth. New shoots have very fine soft felt like hair on the young plants. Leaf sheath very covered with light tan short hairs. Leaf upper surface has some stiff hairs but the lower surface has a felt like feel. Native to Yunnan province in China. Mid-elevations so it has some cool or cold tolerance Zones 9b to 11.
