Artocarpus sericicarpus (pedalai) 5.5 inch square pot
Common Name: Pedalai. Fruits ripen to yellow-orange and look like a giant rambutan (no relation botanically). Sweet white pulp around each seed. In addition, the seeds are edible and can be boiled or roasted. Ornamental leaves are approximately 3 ft. long on mature plants. This tropical rain forest native requires full sun or light shade and warm temperatures. This plant is reported to be sensitive to cool temperatures and will not tolerate temperatures near freezing.
