Annona scleroderma (posh-te) 4x4x10 inch Tree pot
Common Name: Posh-te. Native to lowland rain forest of Central America. Glossy deep green lanceolate leaves. Growth rate is moderate. Begins to bear at about 4 years old. Fruits are about 4 inches in diameter and the peel turns black when ripe. Pulp is soft, sweet and yellow to orange. Peel is hard unlike many other Annona species. Requires warm climate and I don't expect this species to have much cool tolerance. Protect from cool temperatures. Full sun to light shade. Fertilize several times per year for fastest growth. Seems to like good drainage. Most slightly acidic soils are suitable for this species. Outdoors in Zones 10B to 11. The first batch will be ready to start shipping in the spring of 2011.
